Peacocks supports Cancer Research UK…

To date, Peacocks has raised over £1.7million for Cancer Research UK.

The partnership with Cancer Research UK began in 2005 when Peacocks agreed to a two-year relationship with a target of £300,000 to meet.

The partnership was more successful than anyone had imagined it would be, smashing the original target several times over. As a result, the relationship has been renewed every year since; recently being extended until 2011.

A rewarding relationship…

Peacocks’ relationship with Cancer Research UK has obviously been immensely successful in terms of raising money for this important cause. But, Peacocks’ success has been built on its understanding that it’s not all about raising money; it’s also about raising awareness and changing opinion. The long-term relationship has certainly achieved that with customers and 9000+ Peacocks team.

Raising funds and raising awareness…

One of the first fund-raising activities Peacocks became involved with was to create a unique product range to support Cancer Research UK’s fight against breast cancer. The range has been so successful that it has grown significantly each year. A new range has also been added to support Cancer Research UK’s Race For Life events.

The year-round program of activities is focused at key awareness times including Breast Cancer Awareness month, Race For Life and Christmas.

At these times, you’ll find Cancer Research UK pin badges for sale in-store; team-members running their own fund-raising initiatives and awareness-raising promotions in the Peacocks newsletter, Fanmail, and the Cancer Research UK’s equivalent, Team Up.
