Richard Kirk, Group Chief Executive
Richard is Group CEO and was appointed Chief Executive of Peacocks in 1996. He joined as a non-executive director in 1995 and led both the management buy-out of the company in April 1997, its successful stock market flotation in December 1999 before taking the company private again in February 2006.
Prior to joining Peacocks he was managing director of Iceland, having played a key role in the Company’s development since he joined in 1997. Previous to this he held various roles at Woolworths.
Tim Bettley, Managing Director
Tim was appointed Managing Director of Peacocks in 2004. He joined the company
in 1994 as Menswear Buyer and has held a number of senior buying and
merchandising roles within the business.
Tim’s expertise and buying experience has been invaluable as Peacocks has
grown to become a market leader in value fashion. Previous to joining the group,
Tim held Menswear and Childrenswear buying positions with discount retailer
Poundstretcher and Grattan mail order.
Neil Burns, Group Operations Director
Neil was appointed Group Operations Director in 2002. He joined Peacocks
in 1982 and has held various positions within IT and logistics before being
promoted to the board in 1999.
Neil is responsible for all group activities across Logistics, I.T., Property,
Legal, Health and Safety and International Trading.
Chris Miles, Retail Operations Director
Chris was appointed Director of Retail Operations in 2003 having joined
Peacocks in 2000.
Chris has worked in the retail industry for 28 years, specialising in
operational retailing. He has held a mix of branch, field and head office
roles at The John Lewis Partnership, Laura Ashley, The Burton Group,
C&A and Matalan.
Helen Rees, Group HR & Training Director
Helen was appointed Group HR and Training Director in 2003 having joined
Peacocks in 1985. Through her role she has executive responsibility as HR
Director for both Peacocks and Bonmarche.
Helens’ long history of experience in the retail trade helps her understand the
value of staff to the organisation in both producing an outstanding product and
through excellent customer service. Prior to joining Peacocks she held various
HR roles with Marks and Spencer plc.
Laurie Hynds, Group Logistics Director
Laurie was appointed Group Logistics Director in 2006. He joined Peacocks
in May 1997 and has progressed from Project Manager, where he was
responsible for the build and commissioning of the Nantgraw Warehouse site.
Laurie has over 20 years of experience in Logistics functions for major UK retailers.
Prior to joining Peacocks he had worked as a Project Manager for Safeway Stores
for 10 years and for several third party logistics providers.
